Annual Issue 4:
MCNC Completes Four Years.
During the year 2009-2010, MCNC organized
ICEMC2 2009, Fourth Innovative Conference
successfully. Also, GATE workshop 2010 was
organized. The Proceedings of the ICEMC2 2009
was published in MacMilan Advanced Research
Series.
Visitors: Prof Ram Dantu,
University of North Texas, USA, Prof Hema
Sharda, University of Western Australia
Research Progress: MCNC has
achived good progress in research. Prof Kumar
travelled to Munich, Germany to present his
paper entitled "Acoustic Design of Classrooms"
at AES 126th Convention. Also, the concept of
the "Programming Quotient(PQ)" was developed
and a paper was presented at ICMCS 2010,
Chennai Conference.
PESIT Micromouse: Two
research Papers were presented on Micromouse
Maze Solving algorithms in HiPC 2009 Workshop
on Reconfigurable Computing and National
Conference held at RVCE, Bangalore. Micromouse
was also demonstrated at "Prakalpa", PESIT
Project expo.
Conference Participation:
MCNC members have participated in several
international conference such as HiPC 2009,
Cochin, ICMCS 2010, Chennai, National
Instruments Labview conference, AES 126th
Convention, Munich.
Conference Organization:
Fourth Innnovative Conference on Embedded
Systems, Mobile Communication and Computing,
ICEMC2 2009 was successfully organized at
PESSE, Bangalore during July 27-29, 2009. Fifth
ICEMC2 2010 is being planned for organization
at PESIMSR, Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh.
Industry Partnerships:
Funding has been received from ISRO, Indian
Space Research Organization for organizing
ICEMC2 2010 and GATE Workshop 2010.

MCNC Completes three years. During
this year, MCNC has organized an international
Conference ICEMC2 2008, and a
workshop IASW 2009. The proceedings of ICEMC2
2008 was published in MacMillan Advanced
Research Series.
Foriegn visitors: Prof Srinivas
Sampalli and Prof Mike Shepherd of Dalhousie
University Canada, Dr Leisa Armstrong, Edith
Cowan University, Australia, Mr Chris Bolan,
Edith Cowan University, Australia. .
Research Progress: MCNC has made a
good progress towards research. Innovative
Teaching Approach for Software Engineering with
labs has been developed and presented as a
tutorial at IEEE CS Conference on Software
Engineering Education and Training, CSEE&T
2009 at Hyderabad. The paper on Innovation
teaching of Software Engineering was also
published in CSI Communications, Feb 2009
issue.
PESIT Micromouse: This is a project
being undertaken with the funding from PESIT
Research Council. This project will involve
design and development of Micromouse an
autonomous robot for IEEE Micromouse
competitions.

Research Progress: MCNC has made a
good progress towards research. The
breakthrough research is in using analogies and
case studies for innovative pedagogy for mobile
communication. This topic was presented as an
invited tutorial at NCECCube 2007, I2IT, Pune.
A paper was also published in CSI
Communications, July 2007 issue.

members have participated in several
international conference such as TIDC, 2007,
NCECCube 2007, Pune, FTF 2007..
Conference Organization: Third
Innnovative Conference on Embedded Systems,
Mobile Communication and Computing, ICEMC2 2008
is being organized at Infosys, Mysore, during
August 11-14, 2008.
Industry Partnerships: Several MNCs
have shown interest in signing MOUs with PESIT
based on MCNC initiatives. Symbian Software,
Freescale Semiconducators, Infineon
Technologies. Infosys has consented to sponsor
the venue for ICEMC2 2008. Funding has been
received from ISRO, Microsoft, Cranes Software,
Wiley Publishers. Talks by Industry at PESIT
such as by CG Corel on FPGAs was organized.

Annual Issue1:
MCNC Completes one year. MCNC was
started an year ago on 1st March 2006. During
this time, MCNC has organized an international
Conference ICEMC2 2006, deployed a
website, published/presented research papers at
several international conferences in India and
abroad. MCNC is participating in several MNC
partner programs such as TI, IBM, Microsoft
etc. A TI-Lab is being setup with evaluation
boards and software from Texas Instruments.
Several resource CDs covering topics on Network
Security, Computer Networking, Mobile
Communication, Artificial Intelligence are
being developed.
Foriegn visitors: MCNC has attracted
expert visitors from all over the world. To
name a few here: Dr. Ramesh Tirumale of Boeing
in USA, Dr Mike Shepherd of Dalhousie
University, Canada, Mr Jens Harnisch, Infineon
Technology, Germany.
Research Progress: MCNC has made a
good progress towards research. Two research
papers have been selected for presentation at
premier international conferences such as AES
122nd Convention to be held in Vienna, Austria
and Military Communication Conference held in
Washington DC USA. Significant research has
been made in Public-key crytpography and
Steganography.

Texas Instruments TIDC and ATC, Freescale
Technology Forum, ICONS 2007.

International Conference on Embedded Systems,
Mobile Communication and Computing, ICEMC2 2007
is being organized at PESIT during August 3-5,
2007.
